This antenna was designed and developed for receiving and transmitting datas, video or voice, with polar or sub-polar artificial satellites on VHF links.
It works with every kind of polarization: horizontal, vertical and circular. Its wide bandwidth, both in receiving and transmitting, and its low SWR in all the frequencies spectrum, gives to this device a good gain (min. 5,8 dB).
With a low profile and its constant impedance from 115 MHz to 175 MHz, lets you have good acquisitions even with one degree of elevation. APL 96-6 works bi-directional as a dipole, and with its longest element parallel to the ground, with a slope of 45%, you will have a perfect acquisition from 1 degree until 90 degrees.
The antrenna's radiation diagram in air, with a min. distance to the ground > 2 m, is spheriform at 92%. |
